Due to the storms affecting Portugal, Just a Change has activated an emergency plan to intervene on the ground.<\/span><\/h2>\n

Our focus is to<\/span> maximize the impact of qualified labor and know-how<\/strong><\/span><\/span>, guaranteeing that the interventions are safe, effective a useful.<\/span><\/p>\n

What is Just SOS?<\/span><\/h2>\n

After monitoring the state of emergency in the center of Portugal, due to the Kristin storm, we have decided to activate an emergency plan with the main goal of intervening on the ground between February and March.<\/span>
\nDuring this time, we were planning to have our program Turn Up. However, considering the urgency of the situation around the country and the identified needs, we have decided to pause this process and allocate our resources where help is most needed.<\/span><\/p>\n

At the moment, our operation is located on the municipalities of <\/span>Alvai\u00e1zere, Ansi\u00e3o, Ferreira do Z\u00eazere and Tomar.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

The focus in each of the municipalities will be extended over time, whenever possible. Each volunteer can participate during <\/span> a minimun period of <\/b>1 week<\/b><\/span>, from<\/span> Monday to Friday<\/b><\/span>with daily intervention on the ground. During the intervention there will be <\/span> two project managers,<\/strong><\/span> responsible for logistics, volunteer coordination and daily communication of the ground.<\/span>
\nWe work with<\/span> construction technicians<\/strong><\/span> that are always on the construction site and accompany the works. This is not an informal operation: it is <\/span> serious work<\/strong><\/span>, with real impact that requires<\/span> focus, responsibility and team spirit.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

All<\/span> accomodation and food <\/span><\/strong>are provided by the <\/span>municipalities<\/span><\/span><\/strong>. Conditions may vary depending on the location. This may include: shared rooms, overnight in simple accommodations and schedules adapted to the context of the operation. We ask for <\/span> flexibility and solidarity.<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

\n5. Lanterns<\/span><\/strong> (headlamps or handheld lights)<\/span>

\nThe tasks will always depend on the identified needs by the municipalities and may vary from day to day. This is not an informal operation: it is serious work with real impact, requiring focus, responsibility and teamwork.
